Learning Target - I can use common Spanish Verbs to talk about my likes and dislikes. Today - we filled in the verbs section of our vocabulary list. Absent students should do this before returning to school on Tuesday. Then: •On the back of the adjective drawings we did earlier this week there is a chart for you to draw the activities. •In each square, draw a word you feel like you will have a difficult time remembering. Then label the picture with the word in Spanish. You should not write any English on the paper. The 20 squares paper, both front and back, are due Tuesday! Friday - Oct 6 I am out today and there was a sub. The students must finish their online activities from yesterday. They should do CTLS Question word activity and the W09 Saber/Conocer. These are due by the end of the class period, no exceptions. Then the students partnered up and worked on skits for this unit. The students were given the prompts yesterday. We will present these skits on Monday. They will not have any extra time to work on Monday. Use of a translator will result in a 0. Learning Target: I can talk about how long I have been doing my activities and things I know. Thursday - Oct 5 Today we reviewed for the vocabulary quiz. The students took their vocabulary quiz. After the quiz, the students have a W09 Quia activity on Saber/Conocer and a CTLS activity on Question Words. I gave the students some time to work on those and then they were given some questions to translate which will help with their skits tomorrow. Skit Scaffold. Learning Target: I can talk about how long I have been doing my activities and things I know. Tuesday - Oct 3 - Today, we learned Hacer Time Expressions. Here are today's notes. The first part is from yesterday, today starts with the Hacer Time Expression section. We did a practice activity (absent students are exempt) and we did some practice worksheets. Worksheet 1 and worksheet 2. Then we learned about SABER and CONOCER. The guided notes are on the back of your vocabulary sheet. Here are the notes. Then we did this practice worksheet. (the first page is the guided notes, the second page is the practice.) Learning Target - I can ask and answer questions in Spanish. Monday - Oct 2 - Today we reviewed telling time (Que hora es) and talking about what time things will happen (A que hora?) Absent students can get the notes from me. We did an activity where we answered 20 questions. Absent students should answer these questions on a piece of paper. Thursday, Sept 21 We started class by taking the quiz on regular conjugations and stem-changing verbs. Here is today's Powerpoint. We talked about question words and telling-time. We started by reviewing the common 2 verb/infinitive phrases then we wrote some practice sentences. We completed this practice worksheet: Infinitive Phrases Practice We completed workbook page 11 1A-5 to practice for tomorrow's Quiz on Conjugations and Stem-Changing Verbs. The students had the last 20 minutes of class to finish the 3 Quia's for the week and/or study for the quiz. Quiz tomorrow: Stem-Changing and Regular verb conjugations. Learning Target - I can use two verb phrases to say what I'm going to do, need to, should, can, etc. Tuesday, Sept 19 Here is today's PowerPoint. Today we started class by playing Blooket and Quizizz to review vocabulary and conjugations. Then we learned how to handle two verb phrases. Continuing yesterday's powerpoint. To end class we practiced using Quizizz (Absent students are exempted from those activities). We then completed another W08 Quiz on Infinitive Phrases. Students that use an online Translator to complete the activity will have the attempts deleted and will earn a 0 on the assignment. We reviewed Stem-Changing Verbs, then completed two Quia activities that are labeled W08 to practice both regular conjugations and stem-changing verbs. Wednesday we completed the first half of the powerpoint, stopping after the conjugation practice. On Thursday, We practiced reading strategies, then I gave notes on Stem-Changing Verbs. Friday, Sept 7 Today the students wrote their summative essays to close out this unit. As part of the assignment, students will record a FlipGrid video of their writing. Thursday, Sept 7 Here is today's PowerPoint. We learned present tense conjugations and then reviewed for tomorrow's summative to end our review unit. Review Guide Here. I recommend that all students do the practice writing and if they want, I will read over their work tomorrow morning before school or during homeroom. For tomorrow's summative the students can use their vocabulary list and grammar guide (blue sheets) and the possessives (purple). If a student does not have their materials, they will not be allowed to share with a classmate. Friday, Sept 1 Here is today's PowerPoint Today we filled in the "Places" section of our vocabulary list. This is the last review section! Absent students should fill in the meanings of those words. Then we went over the verb IR. We reviewed Gustar and to end class did an activity that is listed on the last page of the powerpoint. Students will have less than 10 minutes on Tuesday to finish the activity, so if they need more time, it's homework. Learning Target - I can talk about my classes and things I have to do using the verbs ser, estar and tener. Thursday, Aug 31 Today the students studied for their quiz and I took up pesos. We took a quiz on ser, estar, tener, classroom items, possessives, prepositions. Absent students can come before or after school (or during HR) to take the quiz. After the quiz, students finished up their skits. Learning Target - I can talk about my classes and things I have to do using the verbs ser, estar and tener. Wed, Aug 30 Today we reviewed for the Quiz. Here is the quiz review. Here are the answers. After we reviewed, the students partnered up and started working on a skit. Tuesday, Aug 29 Today we started reviewing for the quiz that's on Thursday. We did the front of this practice activity to start bringing all the concepts together. (We will do the skit tomorrow). I went over the answers to the adjective agreement activity they turned in last week. Grades are in Synergy. Then the students worked on the two W05 Quia activities. We followed the activities in the powerpoint, practicing our direction words and telling where things are located.
